New State Laws
New State Laws: Has your physician registered their prescriptive delegation with the Medical Board yet?
As you have read many times from TAPA over the last few months with the passage of Senate Bill 532 key changes were made to the PA practice act. One important change that every PA in Texas needs to be aware of is the
Registration of Prescriptive Delegation.
Registration by physicians of delegated prescriptive authority to PAs is once again required. The effective date is 1/31/2010. Physicians who have already notified TMB that they supervise PAs will be provided information on registration prior to the effective date. New notice of supervision forms submitted to the TMB will include an option for designating delegated prescriptive authority.
Below is the link to the State Board site that has the explanations and the document you and your supervising physician must fill out. Please note that the highlighted item below is the only form required – it includes everything – Intent to Practice, Notice of Intent to Supervise and Delegated Prescriptive Authority.
