Fellow Member A fellow member is a PA as defined by Texas law, a fellow member of AAPA, and a Texas resident. The fellow member has full voting privileges and is eligible to hold TAPA office. Membership/Dues Fee: $165
Military A Military member is a PA who is in active Military, providing they are current members of thier respective military PA society. This new benefit will also permit Reserve and National Guard PAs who have been called for active duty for more than 180 days to join or maintain thier TAPA membership for $25. A military member is not entitled to vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Membership/Dues Fee: $25
Associate Member An associate member is a PA who is employed in Texas, but is not a member of AAPA. Associate members, shall have the privilege of the floor, to hold office, except as delegates or alternates to the AAPA House of Delegates, and to vote, except in issues related to AAPA. Membership/Dues Fee: $165
Affiliate Member An affiliate member must be approved by the board of directors, or its designee from allied health professions, or organizations that employ PAs and wish to associate with TAPA. An affiliate member is not entitled to vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Membership/Dues Fee: $128
Sustaining Member A sustaining member is a graduate of an ARCPA or who is certified by NCCPA who has chosen to not practice in the PA profession or who is no longer employed in Texas, including those who have retired. The sustaining/retired membership category shall have privileges of the floor but shall not be entitled to vote, hold office, or chair a committee. Membership/Dues Fee: $83
Hardship Hardship membership is defined as a physician assistant requesting a complimentary membership that may be accepted as a hardship member after approval by the membership committee. Illness, injury or other significant personal hardship may be considered. Requests will be dealt with on an individual basis to include but not strictly limited to the above listed. Hardship members are entitled to the privileges of a fellow member. If you are eligible for this membership type, please contact the TAPA office - (800) 280-7655. You cannot apply for Hardship membership online.
PA/Physician Team A PA-Physician team member is a physician assistant who meets the requirements of fellow or associate membership and their supervising physician. The PA member shall have all the privileges afforded to a fellow or associate member in accordance with Article V, Section 3 and 4. The physician member shall have the privilege of the floor but shall not be entitled to vote, to hold office, or to chair a committee. This is $25 per year in addition to the PA's membership fee. Student A student member is enrolled in a CAHEA, CAAHEP, or successor agency accredited PA program, or an unaccredited program approved by AAPA. Each PA program in Texas is eligible to elect a student representative to the TAPA Board, who has full voting privileges pertaining to TAPA issues. Otherwise, a student member is not entitled to vote, hold office, or chair a committee. $25 for 2 years (or until graduation) * Texas law defines a PA as a graduate of CAHEA/CAAHEP or its subsequent agencies approved physician assistant program and/or NCCPA certified.
Pre-PA Student A Pre-PA Student Member is an individual who is planning to enroll in an ARC-PA, or successor agency accredited PA program, or an unaccredited program approved by AAPA. Pre-PA Student members shall not have the privilege of the floor. Pre-PA student members shall not be entitled to vote, to hold office, or to chair a committee. $25 per year
Physician Membership A physician member is a U.S. licensed physician who wishes to associate with TAPA. Physician members shall have the privilege of the floor, but shall not be entitled to vote, to hold office, or to chair a committee. $25 per year
