Virtual Meeting Frequently Asked Questions

A virtual conference is where the attendee (you) will be in the location of your choosing (home, office, tropical beach, etc.) and the speakers will be in their location. Some of the sessions presented at this conference will be On Demand and some of them will be live. TAPA has chosen Socio as the conference management tool for this event. You can access from your computer or using the upcoming TAPA Conference Application.

On the schedule provided in the Socio Application, attendees will have access to sessions beginning at the time on the schedule. Furthermore, Q&A will only be available during the designated time slot.
Live: This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for __ AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
Enduring: This activity has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for __ AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
You cannot obtain credit for a session using both enduring and live hours.

This means that attendees will be able to participate in concurring sessions by access the recording after the live session has ended.
There is a combination of live and On Demand sessions. All the networking will be presented live and will not be made available after the fact.
For the recorded portions, TAPA has signed up to use Slido for this conference. There is a room set up for each of the sessions, so be sure you are in the correct room before asking the question. The link for the Slido will be available in each of the sessions under links. You will be required to enter your Full name and email address to participate in the Slido Q&A. If you want to preview Slido, you can do so by clicking here. The conference code will be #TAPAAnnual2021
TAPA will send all registered attendees an email with the subject line, "Attendee Information - TAPA Virtual Meeting" which contains the link to the virtual platform along with instructions. If you did not receive the email please contact Meeting Coordinator, alyssa.hanson@texmed.org or email exec@tapa.org. Be sure to use the email address that TAPA has on file.
Yes! These sessions will be available through the end of November 2020. You must complete the course survey and the post test to obtain credit for these sessions.
There are multiple forms of networking. The first is a feature within Socio called “The Wall.” The Wall feature is a social feed that acts as a Social Media account just for this conference. Here attendees can post pictures and comments, and "like" posts. Points will be awarded for creativity and visiting “The Wall”. See below for more information about “The Game”

For one-on-one networking, there are networking sessions built into the schedule for all member types! These will be capped at 275 people, so be sure to show up on time and be ready to network. This will be done through Zoom and will utilize breakout sessions to break everyone up into small groups.

Socio also has a feature built into the application called "Networking". Here you will be able to connect with people who are already online and will give you the ability to text and chat with each other.

Don't forget to visit the Virtual Exhibit Hall during the conference and networking with speakers!
Absolutely! What would a conference be without our exhibitors? Since this is the first virtual conference, TAPA limited to only a couple of booths. This will give you more one-on-one with the exhibitors. Don’t forget to visit the exhibit hall during networking times to connect with the exhibitors and get extra points for “The Game”
Yes! TAPA is currently working with AAPA to allow these sessions to be available through the end of April 2021. More information about that will be coming shortly.
This is not Fight Club; we’re going to be talking about “The Game” quite a bit! “The Game” is a feature that rewards you for participating in the event; the more you do, the more points you can get! Keywords will be available throughout the conference. Attendees will be able to compete against each other to see who can earn the most points! Check your progress against other attendees on the Leaderboard at any time. The person with the most points at 2:00pm in Sunday will be crowned the winner and win a prize! Prizes will also be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place.
All attendees of the live session will be awarded credit for attending the entirety of the period. Make sure you use your real name when you join the live sessions so that we can track how long you were in the event room! If you attend a session that is On Demand, you will be required to complete and pass a post-test. These tests will be automatically graded using Survey Monkey. Be sure to click on the “Post-Test” link at the bottom of the course page.
We get it, this is new for everyone. The TAPA phone number (800.280.7655) will be accessible and answered during the conference. You can also reach out the event coordinator directly at alyssa.hanson@texmed.org; but please don’t do all three, we want to make sure that we’re there for others as well.
