TAPA Membership Information

Fellow Member - $175/year
A fellow member is a physician assistant who is a graduate of an ARC-PA, or successor agency accredited physician assistant program, or who is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, who is licensed and employed in Texas, and is also a fellow member of AAPA. Fellow members shall have the privilege of the floor, to hold office, and to vote.
Associate Member - $175/year
An associate member is a physician assistant who is licensed and employed in Texas, but is not a member of AAPA. Associate members shall have the privilege of the floor, hold office, except as designates or alternates to the AAPA House of Delegates, and to vote, except in issues related to AAPA.
Military Member - $35/year
A Military member is a physician assistant who is on active Military duty, providing they are current members of their respective military PA society. This new benefit will also permit Reserve and National Guard PAs who have been called for active duty for more than 180 days to join or maintain their TAPA membership. A military member is not entitled to vote, hold office or chair a committee.
Sustaining/Retired Member - $85/year
A sustaining member is a graduate of an ARCPA or who is certified by NCCPA who has chosen not to practice in the PA profession, or who is no longer employed in Texas, including those who have retired. The sustaining/retired membership category shall have privileges of the floor but shall not be entitled to vote, hold office or chair a committee.
Student Member - $25 - one time fee
A student member is enrolled in a CAHEA, CAAHEP, or successor agency accredited PA program, or an unaccredited program approved by AAPA. Each PA program in Texas is now eligible to elect a student representative to the TAPA Board, who has full voting privileges pertaining to TAPA issues. Otherwise a student member is not entitled to vote, hold office or chair a committee.
Pre-PA Student - $50/year
A Pre-PA student member is an individual who is planning to enroll in an ARC-PA, or successor agency accredited PA program, or an unaccredited program approved by AAPA. Pre-PA student members shall not have the privilege of the floor. Pre-PA student members shall not be entitled to vote, hold office or chair a committee. Pre-PA members must contact the TAPA office when they get into a PA program to elevate their membership (for free).
Physician - $25/year
A physician member is a US licensed physician who wishes to associate with TAPA. Physician members shall have the privilege of the floor, but shall not be entitled to vote, hold office, or chair a committee.
Affiliate Member - $148 *** To apply for this member type you must contact the TAPA office.
Affiliate membership is for those individuals who would like to be affiliated with TAPA but are not a PA, PA-C, PA-S or Pre-PA.
An Affiliate member must be approved by the board of directors, or its designee from allied health professions, or organizations that employ PAs and wish to associate with TAPA. An Affiliate member is not entitled to vote, hold office or chair a committee.
